These lovely books are short and engaging for emerging readers. You may want to choose a few books to read over and over, dive into the dinosaur series, or pick out several and go on new adventures every day!

Activities and Projects
A list of ideas about what to write, play, and create to bring your Author Study together. These activities will go well with your printable.
Write a fan letter to the author telling her about your Author Study and your favorite book! Use this contact form to send your message to the author.
Create a venn diagram and talk about the similarities and differences between two stories. Free printable Venn Diagram
Host a dinosaur party! Invite your friends (or stuffed animals) to practice their best dino manners. Pick up some dinosaur masks to share and use the printable invitations and checklist to plan your party.
Put on a play with characters from different books. You can write the story first or practice your improv.
Sing your favorite story. Many of Yolen’s sound like poetry. Sing them out. Use a familiar tune or make up your own. Use a recorder or app to record your voice; then read along with your singing.
